Keiko Devaux (1982) est compositeure de musique contemporaine bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sa d\u00e9marche embrasse un amour pour les sons et m\u00e9thodologies \u00e9lectroacoustiques, manipulant et d\u00e9formant des sons acoustiques \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019outils num\u00e9riques. Elle rend ensuite ces transformations sous forme de transcriptions \u00e9crites, les traduisant \u00e0 nouveau dans le domaine acoustique. Elle s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 l'exp\u00e9rience \u00e9motionnelle et affective, aux ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes auto-organisationnels dans la nature et chez les \u00eatres vivants, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019estompage des fronti\u00e8res entre genres musicaux. Elle superpose et agence des \u00e9l\u00e9ments m\u00e9lodiques ou harmoniques distill\u00e9s de sources sonores tr\u00e8s contrast\u00e9es. La distorsion des attributs temporels, fr\u00e9quentiels et timbraux permet de fusionner le langage tonal traditionnel et des gestes bruitistes d\u2019inspiration plus \u00e9lectroacoustique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ses \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es au Canada, en France, en Italie, en Allemagne, en Belgique, aux \u00c9tats-Unis et en Isra\u00ebl par divers ensembles, dont le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, le Quatuor Molinari, le Trio Fibonacci, l\u2019Ensemble Arkea, le Quartetto Prometeo, <\/span>musica assoluta,<\/span> l\u2019ensemble Sturm und Klang, le Jasper String Quartet, le Rolston String Quartet, l\u2019ensemble Talea et les Israel Contemporary Players, <\/span>entre autres. Elle collabore aussi r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement avec des chor\u00e9graphes et des cin\u00e9astes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elle est laur\u00e9ate de nombreux prix et distinctions, dont le Prix Juno pour Composition classique de l'ann\u00e9e (pour Arras,<\/em> 2022), <\/span>le Prix Opus de la Compositrice de l\u2019ann\u00e9e (2022), la toute premi\u00e8re commande Azrieli pour musique canadienne en 2020 (le plus important du genre au Canada et l'un des plus importants au monde), le Prix Jan V. Matejcek pour nouvelle musique classique (2019), une bourse de distinction du Rotary Club de Sienne pour ses cours de ma\u00eetre avec Salvatore Sciarrino \u00e0 l\u2019Accademia Chigiana (2018), le Concours de composition de l\u2019OUM (2016 et 2018) et les prix du jury et du public de la 5e \u00e9dition du Concours Acc\u00e8s Arkea (pour Ombra,<\/em> 2017). <\/span><\/p>\n

Entre 2016 et 2018, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 compositrice en r\u00e9sidence au Nouvel Ensemble Moderne (Montr\u00e9al). De 2020 \u00e0 2022, elle participe \u00e0 la R\u00e9sidence Carrefour aupr\u00e8s de l\u2019Orchestre du CNA (Ottawa). Elle est compositrice agr\u00e9\u00e9e au Centre de musique canadienne, ancienne pr\u00e9sidente du conseil d\u2019administration de Codes d\u2019acc\u00e8s et ancienne organisatrice du Laboratoire de musique contemporaine de Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n

Originaire de la Colombie-Britannique, elle a d\u00e9but\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re musicale avec des \u00e9tudes d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation en piano, ainsi que dans la composition, la tourn\u00e9e et l'enregistrement de plusieurs albums dans des groupes de rock ind\u00e9pendant. Elle d\u00e9tient un baccalaur\u00e9at en musique (\u00c9criture), une ma\u00eetrise en composition instrumentale et un doctorat en composition et cr\u00e9ation sonore de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. Elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9tudi\u00e9 avec le maestro Salvatore Sciarrino \u00e0 l\u2019Accademia Musicale Chigiana \u00e0 Sienne, en Italie (2017 \u00e0 2019). <\/span><\/p>\n
